The pickup truck market in North American is dominated by Chevrolet Silverado and Nissan lags far behind with its pickup trucks. To challenge the popularity of Silverado and increase the sales of pickups of Nissan, Company has started working on launching a new variant of Titan that would be called 2016 Titan in North America.

In 2013, North America has purchased a total of 1.6 million pickup trucks out of which only 21,576 units were Titan. It has almost been 10 years since the first Titan has had any redesign or facelift. Therefore, according to the company, today’s booming automobile market offers them the appropriate opportunity to launch a redesigned Titan with modern features and achieve a higher sales target in the upcoming years. Thus, 2016 Nissan Titan takes birth in their workshop.

The major change or refreshment would be carried out under the hood of 2016 Titan, which is discussed in the following segment. Along with it, exterior and interior are also subjected to change but not by radical measures. First of all, the cheap quality material that was used in its predecessor would be replaced by premium quality materials. Two rows of extravagance seats would be provided and finished with high quality leather in the cabin to accommodate 5 adult people with ease.

On its outer side, the most significant changes would be carried out on its front fascia which was covered by heavy camouflage during a test on America soil. The hood might remain the same but curves could give it a new definition. Front bumpers are definitely changing this time along with slightly redesigned headlights with LED lights in them. The old horizontal barred grille is replaced by new checkered grille that provides this vehicle a modern appearance. One can expect to see developed instrument cluster in its dashboard with new age technologies installed in it.

According to some reports, 2016 Nissan Titan would be offered in diesel variants besides gasoline trims. Diesel variant would be powered by 5.0 litre V8 Cummins diesel mill that could produce 300 HP and 500 lb-ft. gasoline variants would be powered by the well known 5.6 litre V8 engine that is capable of producing 317 HP and 385 lb-ft. Transmission options for gasoline and diesel are JR711E and ZF respectively.

The base price of 2016 Nissan Titan would be $20,000 and would extend upto $50,000 as per trims. It is rumoured to be premiered in 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
